Credentialing

Purpose of the
RCC Credentialing Group

The purpose of the RCC Credentialing Group is to uphold the integrity, professionalism, and accountability of recovery coaching in Canada by developing and maintaining clear, ethical, and accessible standards for credentialing.

We exist to ensure that those who carry the title of Recovery Coach do so with demonstrated competence, lived experience, and a deep commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and client-centred practice.

Our work strengthens public trust, supports coach development, and affirms that recovery coaching is a legitimate, skilled profession—one that changes lives and deserves recognition.

We collaborate as professional recovery coaches to adapt, strengthen and grow the understanding of recovery coaching. This has led to establishing solid criteria for the demonstration and assessment of skills for the accreditation process for members.
